    Education:

  • In 2004-2005 Odd Steinar went to the Conservatory of music in Piteå, Sweden where he studied both classical and jazz guitar

  • Later in 2005-2006 began study at the Jazz studies at Sund Folkehøgskole

  • After studying ground principles of jazz for 2 years he was accepted at the Jazz Conservatory in Trondheim 2006-2010 and took his bachelors degree in Jazz Guitar. Odd Steinar's teachers in Trondheim were Jon Pål Inderberg, Erling Aksdal Vigleik Storås, Ernst Viggo Sandbakk and Gunnar Andreas Berg

  • He did his Master's degree in Jazz at Aaron Copland School Of Music, New York in 2014-2016. he enjoyed being taught by great american jazz musicians like David berkman, Michael Mossman, Paul Bollenback, Lage Lund, Jeb Patton and Dennis Mackrel

    Lessons and cooperations:

  • He has had lessons with famous guitar players such as Mike Moreno, Jonathan Kreisberg and Gilad Hekselman

  • In Trondheim he went to school with among others Trygve Fiske, Oscar Grönberg, Peder Waern, Hanna Paulsberg, Trond Bersu, Ine Hoem, André Rolgheten, Jon Rune Strøm, Gard Nilsen, who are well known in the Norwegian scene

  • In Scandinavia he plays with petter wettre, Tore Sandbakken, Erlend Slettevold, Trygve Fiske, kjetil Jerve and many more

  • in new york he started playing with gianni Gagliardi, jesse simpson and Lars ekman. The quartet still has a close cooperation to this day
